Well, it all started with me trying to include an RSS feed for my MotionBased account… the point being I wanted the blog to automatically update with my latest runs whenever I uploaded new stuff. So as I’m figuring out the best way to do this, I find a plugin called Sidebar Widgets… as I get into it I realize how wonderful it is!! Basically all the hacking together of my sidebar in a php file has been replaced by a graphical interface, where I create widgets of the little bits of code and then I drag and drop them. Awesome!
Uh yeah on second read I’m speaking techie-babble. So long story short, it’s much easier to manage the things you see on the right hand side of my blog now. :-)
So I got that all straightened out, got the run updates working (see on the right) and then I got to itching for a new look. So I found this one that I like a lot! And you’ll notice it rotates between a few color schemes. I hope you like it!!
So here’s the sum
- You can now see all my latest training runs over on the right. This is very cool.
- Now you can search my site using Google. The search box searches Google but only on pages within my site.
- I just think it looks spiffy!
I lost a couple of things I have to figure out how to make work, and there’s a bunch of stuff I can add now that I’m using widgets, so be on the lookout… but I think the layout is great, and everything is objects now, no more tedious configuration for hours trying to figure out my hacked together sidebar. Woohoo!
