Five Things I Know Today that I Didn’t Know Yesterday
Posted by: Geoff Gottlieb in Following Christ1. Middle schoolers can be intimidating! And they can also be very encouraging… and very unafraid to worship. Adults can learn something from them
2. There’s a band called Man Man…. and they’re cool man… man! :-)
3. I’m older than I used to be… and it was weird watching 16 year old kids at a concert, and remembering my first concert when I was 16.. and how cool I thought I was, and how cool they thought they were, and how wrong we all were!
4. That a Guitar Hero II tournament with my friends from the college ministry will be a reality!
5. The college ministry I’m helping lead… it’s going somewhere that it hasn’t been. In a good way. I can feel it in my bones. God’s getting ready to move.
God’s not through with me. I feel, in a way, like I’m in between things… semesters, times of growth, areas of focus. It feels uneasy to be honest with you. Feels like I’m drifting somewhere… though I know I’m only exhaling a little and trying to figure out what comes next. But I do know that as long as God is there.. I’m cool.
Over the next few weeks I have some decisions about school and training and my areas of ministry I want to focus and excel in. Part of it will probably be decided laying in the sand in Orange Beach. Maybe sleeping in on the couch in the condo. Maybe out on my bike spending the afternoon in prayer.
Right now I pray for rest. Real rest. Guess it doesnt make much sense to pray for rest while typing a blog at 1:20 AM. But I’m doing it anyway. Rest and renewal for my spirit, and for my body that has been pushed to the limit so far this year.
I pray for refocusing, and getting a clear sense of where I need to be, what I need to be doing…
And I pray for everyone reading this… for your continued growth and finding Jesus in your hearts and in all hose unexpected places in your lives.
Today was a great day. I’m really glad I lived it… and now, I’m really glad to say goodnight, and go to sleep. My computer awaits me soon. ;-)
